June 13: Flash Fiction Challenge
“What do you mean you can’t tell time?”
“No one ever showed me how to read a clock.”
“It’s simple. Short hand points to the hour, long hand points to the minute.”
“Phones these days show time digitally.”
“But your generation is losing old, vital knowledge.”
The kid shrugged. “You know, you can change the time on your phone from digital to analog.”
“Really?” The adult pulled out his phone. He tried to change the settings but became frustrated. “I can’t figure this thing out!”
The kid held out his hand. “Allow me. I have the new vital knowledge.”
I’ll bet the young’un can’t work a rotary telephone. 😉

Probably never even seen one. 😀
I actually have an old rotary phone, but they don’t work anymore unless you have an adaptor.

I’m sad to hear that, but I suppose it’s not surprising.

I like this! Times change and we need to adapt.

I’m astounded by how much change I’ve seen in my lifetime. I’m so old we still had a black and white TV when I was a young child.

Change seems to be happening faster now, I guess. Maybe it is going to be even faster.

I love it when I tell a young person that I’m so old there were only 48 states when I was born. They just look at me and ask, “How many are there now?”

Don’t know whether to laugh or be disappointed. 😀

It is amazing how much has changed in our lifetime already. I like the give and take of knowledge between the two in your flash.
