On October 14th this Saturday morning there’s going to be a solar eclipse that’s going to be very visible in Oregon, and a friend who lives about a half hour northeast of Roseburg has invited me to his eclipse party. I live alone and don’t get out much so a chance to travel and be amongst people is most welcome. I’ll be leaving Wednesday evening from Oakland and arriving in Eugene an hour and a half later. I wanted to leave on Thursday but Wednesday flights are more affordable.
This solar eclipse is an annular solar eclipse because the moon is far enough from the earth that it can not completely block out the sun like a total solar eclipse. This one’s path will go straight through central Oregon so I’ll be in a optimal place to see it (unless it’s overcast).
I love visiting Oregon and look forward to this trip. I’ll also head up to Portland on Sunday or Monday to visit another friend then fly out of Portland early Tuesday morning for San Jose (Tuesday tickets are cheaper than Monday tickets) then back to Santa Cruz. I’ll post more about this trip later, I’ll also post pictures on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/robert.kirkendall.writer/
Hope the weather is nice so you can see the eclipse! Where we are in TX will be in the path, too. 🙂

April 8tb there will be a total eclipse (not of my heart) where my daughter attends college. We are definitely going to drive the two hours to see it!

Were you able to see it? Cloudy where I was so we only got a glimpse.

I didn’t see this past one, but I will in April. It is supposed to a total eclipse in Erie.
