(A 99 word flash fiction piece prompted by Carrot Ranch, link below.)
December 5: Flash Fiction Challenge
“You think he’ll appreciate this?” Eva asked.
“Of course,” Marty replied. “Who doesn’t like a good practical joke?”
“Most people.”
“I’m sure he’ll have a good laugh.”
Clearance walked into the room, then Marty launched a pie he had been holding aloft right at him. The pie splatted squarely onto Clearance’s face. He stood crestfallen as the pie tin slowly slid off his face.
Marty laughed uproariously as Eva stood in bafflement.
“Well the joke’s on you,” Clearance finally proclaimed, then he wiped some of the pie off his face and tasted it. “Key lime pie is my favorite.”
And now I want pie! Great S/story thanks for sharing

I remember pies in the face comedy. Whatever happened to that genre? Fun take on the prompt, Robert!

Thank you, Charli! I agree that the cinematic pie fighting has woefully declined, I even once posted about this laugh guaranteeing genre of comedy. https://robertkirkendall.com/2019/08/25/fun-with-pies/
