New Short Movie Project

I’ve embarked on a new short movie, it’s a farce about people trying to get out of jury duty and is based on a piece of flash fiction I wrote and posted a year and a half ago. https://robertkirkendall.com/2022/01/15/jury-duty-a-flash-fiction-piece/

Already have most of the cast, only need one more actor with a speaking role and maybe some extras to fill out the jury assembly room. I also have a shooting location but still need to get final approval from Community TV of Santa Cruz for use of their conference room. Because it takes place indoors I won’t have to deal with the ever changing weather of Santa Cruz which makes shooting a lot easier. And it shouldn’t take long to get it done because the script comes out to five minutes long.

So I was working on another sort movie called Sunset Memories and posted about it earlier, but that project is on hold for various reason. I won’t bore you with the details but sometimes the unexpected happens and derails one’s plans.

As long as the stars align favorably we’ll shoot my little movie during the first weekend of September and after editing all the footage together it should be ready for release during the fall or early winter of this year. Fingers crossed. Will post updates as this project moves ahead.
