Short Movie To Air On November 17

My short movie Escape From Jury Duty will debut on Community TV of Santa Cruz on November 17th and will also be able be webcast. The plot of my short comedy is about potential jurors coming up with absurd excuses to get dismissed from jury duty, something most people find identifiable. Movie was shot on Sunday September 3rd and I wrote about it in a previous post: https://robertkirkendall.com/2023/09/14/movie-making-challenges/.

Nasr as Potential Juror 3, Kip Allert as Potential Juror 2,
Joe Milo as Potential Juror 6, and Tiffany Cesi Cesarin
as Potential Juror 5.

About three weeks later I was able to get the footage edited by Linda Janakos who did an amazing job of putting all the rough cuts together in a cohesive way. Soon after that I approached a local band named American Underdog to record music for the end credits, which they did. Thanks, guys!

The name of the program that EFJD is going to appear on is called Phil Harmonic Presents, a live broadcast show hosted by Phil Nasr that features a panel discussion on various topics and live music. Airtime is Friday November 17th at 7PM PST, it will broadcast locally on channels 27 (Santa Cruz, Xfinity) and 73 (Watsonville, Charter), and will also be webcast at https://communitytv.org/watch/ then click the 27/73 tab. On the panel will be Phil, myself, and some of the actors and we’ll discuss the movie making challenges of EFJD, an interesting story in and of itself, and American Underdog will be playing the live music! I’ll post again as November 17th approaches, stay tuned.
