Writer of fiction and drama, Kirkendall grew up in San Jose, California, attended San Jose State University, and worked at a variety of jobs over the years as he developed his writing.  He read poems at open readings, worked on the novel Redwood Summer (a story of 1990 San Jose), was a member of the Briefly Scene playwright workshop, and in 2016 began producing and directing some of his short plays at Community Television of Santa Cruz as live broadcasts.

In 2020-21 he co-wrote a feature screenplay with filmmaker Hilary Davidson called TWENTY for Nineteen85Films, which was released in 2024.  Beginning in 2022 his plays began appearing off-off Broadway, including a one act comedy Funhouse at Manhattan Repertory Theatre, a two act play Electric Serenade at Theater for the New City’s 2022 Dream Up Festival, and a one act drama Yellow Roses which had staged readings at the Equity Library Theater and was performed at the New York Theater Festival in June 2025.  Other plays of his have been performed online out of New York at TNC’s On the Air series, Airplay ’22, and the Wine Box Players.  In late 2023 he completed his first short movie, a comedy titled Escape From Jury Duty which debuted on November 17, 2023 on the Community TV of Santa Cruz show Phil Harmonic Presents.

      2. I’m producing my show at Community TV of Santa Cruz and it’s a live broadcast drama anthology show. Each episode is its own stage play, and they are performed in front of cameras and mics while being live broadcast. The first two episodes are on my Pacific Television Theater page so you can watch them if you’d like.
