(Flash fiction prompt from carrotranch. Usually the phrase ‘never ending’ is used as a negative (as in reference to a long and tedious task), but I tried to make it into a positive. Link below.)
“Have you seen the news? War, poverty, oppression, planetary destruction; the world’s problems are never ending!”
“They are, but you have to look at all that in a positive light.”
“How’s that possible?”
“Purpose of life.”
“I don’t understand.”
“With so many problems everywhere requiring so much action from all of us, our path ahead of us is clear. We have to take on the world’s challenges in a unified front or perish as a species.”
“You know, you’re right. That explanation really changes my perspective. Never ending problems are good thing!”
“Uh, I didn’t mean it like that.”
