Projects For 2026

Happy 2026! May it be an improvement over 2025.

Got a few things happening in 2026, here they are:

My short movie Shady Brady’s has a tentative premier, Friday January 23rd on Community TV of Santa Cruz at 7PM PST. It’ll be on the CTV live program Phil Harmonic Presents, a panel interview show with live music. We’ll air the movie then discuss it in between musical interludes. I’ll be there with Phil the Host and the cast members who are able to make it.

On June 4, 6, and 7 my one act comedy No Good Deed will be performed at New York Theater Festival. Already have a cast of three and a director lined up for this show and I’m completely confident in their abilities to make it happen. More about this play as it approaches.

I’m also working on a new two act stage play. It’s a drama about a longtime cafe that’s located in a condemned building. The cafe is going to have to close or move away but the owner doesn’t want to go.

The front counter of the former Cafe Pergolesi in Santa Cruz,
the inspiration for my new two act stage play.

I’ve also started a new feature length screenplay it’s a day in the life of a restaurant that’s fighting to stay in business.

The Fish Market, a since closed Santa Clara restaurant that’s one of
the inspirations for my newest screenplay (I used to work there back
in 1986-87).

These are the main projects for 2026. Additionally I’d like to make a return to prose fiction, I began a new short story last year and I should finish it. I’ve also got some short scripts that I’d like to turn into movies but haven’t decided on which one to do next. Very much looking forward to it! 🎬

Hope you all have a wonderful 2026!

    1. I’ve seen a number of cafes and other local hangouts disappear over the years, makes me more appreciative for the ones that are still in business. My cafe play is also going to have a family element which should give it more depth. Yes, best wishes for 2026!
