Below is the link to the home page for Redwood Summer. Though it’s a novel that takes place in 1990, it has themes that are relevant to today, and it takes a deeper look at a pivotal time in history that set us on the course that took us to where we are today.

Historical fiction shines the light of reflection on the past to help us better understand the present, and that’s what I hope I achieved with this small story about a young man trying to navigate through the changes of 1990, both personal and societal.

I’ve been writing and rewriting Redwood Summer on and off for many years, but recent events caused me to return to this project with new urgency. I hope to shape it into the fine work I know it can be.
