A two act play of mine titled Happily Ever After will be receiving a staged reading this Saturday August 8 2PM PDT at the Scratch Studio in the Old Sash Mill complex. Happily Ever After is a rewrite of my play Electric Serenade which was performed at Theater for the New City back in September 2022. After its short run I adapted it into a screenplay and gave it a new title, Second Time Around. While writing the screenplay I made new discoveries about the two main characters and the plot that I then incorporated into the stage play. These changes were few but important, so I decided to have a staged reading to get the new version of the script spoken aloud by actors in front of an audience to see if it has improved enough to warrant a new production.

Scratch Studio is located at 303 Potrero St unit 2B in Santa Cruz. It’s a free event but donations will be appreciated. 🙂 Happily Ever After is basically a boy meets girl story with complications, and they each have to take a journey of self discovery before they can be right for each other.
